Description
Cary Blair Transport Medium is a semisolid transport medium for preserving faecal and rectal specimens.
Low nutrient content maintains viability without significant multiplication, thioglycollate creates reduced conditions, phosphate buffers the medium and the alkaline pH supports Vibrio recovery.
Swab or stool specimens are placed into the medium and transported promptly for subculture. The IFU identifies recovery of Salmonella, Shigella, Yersinia and Vibrio.
