Description
Chromatic MH is a chromogenic Mueller-Hinton medium for presumptive microbial differentiation and antimicrobial-susceptibility testing directly from clinical specimens.
Chromogenic substrates differentiate organisms by colony colour, while the Mueller-Hinton base supports disk-diffusion and gradient-strip susceptibility testing. The formulation is optimised for Gram-negative bacteria.
The specimen is streaked onto the plate, antimicrobial disks or MIC strips are applied and plates are incubated aerobically at approximately 37°C for 18–24 hours. Colony colour and inhibition zones or MIC values are interpreted.
