Bacteriological peptone supplies readily available nitrogen, while papaic liver digest contributes vitamins and essential amino acids. The PDF identifies growth support for yeasts, filamentous fungi, Clostridium and lactic acid bacteria.
The ingredient is dissolved in purified water, incorporated into the required formulation and sterilised by autoclaving.
