Description
Streptococcus Selective Agar is a selective solid medium for isolating streptococci from mixed microbial populations.
Peptones and glucose support growth, sodium azide inhibits Gram-negative rods and crystal violet restricts staphylococci.
Specimens are inoculated onto prepared plates and incubated at 36 ± 1°C for approximately 24–48 hours. Presumptive streptococcal colonies are selected for confirmation.
