Description
Potassium Tellurite 1% Supplement is a selective liquid supplement for preparing Vogel–Johnson Agar and other tellurite-containing media used for staphylococci.
Staphylococci reduce tellurite to elemental tellurium and develop grey-black to black colonies, while the supplement contributes selective inhibition of competing organisms.
One 10 mL bottle is added aseptically to 500 mL of the compatible sterile, cooled agar before plates are poured.
