Description

Egg Yolk Tellurite Emulsion 20% is a liquid supplement used to prepare Baird Parker Agar for isolation and enumeration of coagulase-positive staphylococci.

Lecithinase activity produces clear zones around colonies, while tellurite reduction causes black colony formation. One 50 mL bottle is added to one litre of Baird Parker Agar Base.

The complete medium is used according to ISO 6888-1.
