Description

Egg Yolk Emulsion is a sterile 50% egg-yolk supplement for preparing lecithinase-differential culture media.

Lecithinase-positive microorganisms hydrolyse egg-yolk lecithin and produce characteristic opaque or clearing reactions around colonies.

The emulsion is mixed thoroughly and added aseptically to sterile cooled PEMBA, MYP, TSC or SFP base medium according to the associated technical sheet.
