Description
Urea 40% Supplement is a sterile concentrated urea solution for completing Christensen Urea Agar.
Urea serves as the substrate for microbial urease. Hydrolysis releases ammonia and produces the alkaline phenol-red reaction in the completed medium.
Fifty millilitres are added aseptically to one litre of sterile cooled Urea Agar Base before the medium is dispensed.
