Description
Glyceryl Tributyrate is a liquid supplement used with Tributyrin Agar Base to detect and enumerate lipolytic microorganisms.
Hydrolysis of tributyrin produces clear zones around lipolytic colonies in the otherwise opaque completed medium.
The PDF specifies addition of 10 mL per litre of Tributyrin Agar Base and identifies applications for lipase activity in staphylococci, clostridia, Pseudomonas and other bacteria.
