Description
Novobiocin Supplement is a selective supplement used with Modified Semi-solid Rappaport Vassiliadis medium for detecting motile Salmonella.
Novobiocin inhibits much of the Gram-positive flora and selected competing organisms while permitting migration of motile Salmonella through the semi-solid medium.
One vial is reconstituted and added to one litre of the compatible base. The completed medium is used in the ISO 6579-1 workflow before confirmation on differential agar.
