Description

Kanamycin/Polymyxin B Supplement is a selective lyophilised supplement used with Clostridium Perfringens Agar for recovery of Clostridium perfringens.

Kanamycin and polymyxin B provide the selective action described in the PDF by suppressing accompanying organisms. One vial is reconstituted and added aseptically to 500 mL of the compatible sterile, cooled medium together with the specified egg-yolk supplement.

The completed medium is inoculated and incubated under the anaerobic conditions stated for the associated agar. The product is supplied as ten vials.
