Description
R.P.F. Supplement is a rabbit-plasma fibrinogen supplement for identifying and enumerating coagulase-positive staphylococci on Baird–Parker medium.
Rabbit plasma and bovine fibrinogen produce a fibrin halo around positive colonies, while potassium tellurite provides selectivity and grey-black colony coloration.
One reconstituted bottle is added to 90 mL of Baird–Parker Agar Base. Samples are pour-plated and incubated at 37°C for 24–48 hours according to ISO 6888-2.
