H2O2 / Catalase Reagent Droppers is a rapid hydrogen-peroxide reagent for detecting catalase activity in bacterial isolates.
Catalase-positive microorganisms decompose hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen, producing visible gas bubbles. The PDF describes slide, agar-plate and broth methods.
The reagent is intended for use with pure cultures. Positive reactions are read by immediate or early bubble formation and require additional testing for complete microbial identification.
