Description
Steril Control GST E6 is a self-contained biological indicator for monitoring steam sterilisation processes.
Each ampoule contains a defined population of Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores in culture medium with a colour indicator. Following exposure, the ampoule is incubated at 55–60°C; a colour change and growth indicate surviving spores, while absence of growth supports successful sterilisation.
The PDF states a nominal resistance corresponding to destruction after 15 minutes at 121°C and identifies USP, European Pharmacopoeia, DAB, ISO 11138, EN 866 and ISO 17665:2024 references for biological-indicator use.
